This is my first PDA, and after doing months and months of research, pondering the latest and the greatest, I finally came to a decision and boy was I glad! This PDA is great. Prior to this, I’d considered the Compaq Ipaq, the Palm 505, and the Casio Cassiopeia. As most people would know, the Ipaq is extremely expensive, which is probably what discourages prospective buyers even more. The Palm 505–although a decent piece of hardware–is lacking severely in their dim screen. And the Casio, well let’s just say that thing can’t exactly be carried around in your pocket. The Sony, however, surpasses all of them from what I’ve experienced thus far. It’s got a great assortment of applications (for the business professional or the college student, such as I), and although I’d been looking forward to a PocketPC interface, the Palm OS 4.1 is just as good. The vivid screen is what really tipped the scales–simply beautiful! And for the price, I’d say it’s worth it, especially if you’re considering the Palm505. Not only that, the slim, sleek design and durable case looks and feels like a quality Sony product.

i will be quick and straight. this is the best palm based pda you can get. 320×320 screen resolution compared to the 160×160 on other handhelds. it looks great, full color, fast, slick, and its a sony. i bought one for myself and just bought another one for my girl friend. the price is amazing!
