Amazing sound, No lag when you go through the menus like the Kenwoods. Pioneer reliability, 1 year of owner ship and I’m still in love with it. Why pay some dealer thousands of dollar for something that works, sounds, and feels better that you can install yourself for a fraction of the price. For you 2008 Honda Element owners get the Xcorpion Honda Element Double Din Dash Kitmy only complain is that sometimes when you skip the song forward it turns off the display since the assigned button is right on top.also Pandora has to be connected on your phone first before you can connect and the Spotify app has a similar problem…Bluetooth work excellent though.

I ordered the Pioneer AVH-X390BS Double Din head unit and it will be arriving today, but I wanted to also offer help because I see people having issues with certain things. I will certainly update this review after I install mine, but so far it’s 5 stars because it seems to be a nice unit.Issues and solutions:Firmware updates: Use a blank USB key, formatted to FAT32, larger than 2GB but likely best to use one less than 16 GB (thought you can use one that size as well). Unzip the file using your computer and the ONLY file on the USB drive should be the firmware update file. If more than one file, delete the other stuff and leave only the firmware update file. No music or other files should be on the drive at all or it likely will not work. Then update in the menu and it should work. You must be stopped, cannot drive and all phones hooked up via Bluetooth should not be connected.AutoEQ: I see a lot of people saying this makes your head unit sound worse, which is false. The most important function this does is time align your speakers, especially your subwoofer, for your main listening spot. It also sets an EQ which you may or may not like, with the idea flattening the response curve of your speakers. You MUST use the Pioneer mic for this, no other mic will work right because the Pioneer mic is calibrated. I also see a lot of people wrapping the wire around the back of the seat and hanging it where your ears are. While this works, it is not going to optimize as well because the sound is hitting the back of your seat. The right way to do it is to use a mic stand or tripod and put the mic where your ears are, slightly forward from the back of the seat (where your head actually would be). If the mic is flat against the back of your chair (for example, head rest), it will be about 4-8 inches away from where your head (and ears) actually are. You want it exactly where your ears would be, so sit on the passenger side and align it where your head is, level with your ears on the driver side. This will be much more accurate and is the only way to get it to work as intended.Steering wheel controls: No matter what head unit you buy, you need an adapter specific to your vehicle. There is no head unit in this world that is going to “plug and play” with steering wheel controls. You need to wire in the adapter as you install the radio and some you need to set as well. Make sure you set it to 7 for Pioneer (or whatever Pioneer would be) if it does have to be set. Refer to your instructions with the steering wheel adapter. There are millions of combinations of cars, trucks, models, years, makes, etc. This is why they sell aftermarket adapters for your particular vehicle.I hope this helps and here is my review: (Blank until installed)

I just finished installing this deck in my car and so far so good. I purchased the X390BS because it was this years model and had several updates/upgrades over the previous year. The install was easy and sound quality is excellent. It was easy to customize the colours to match my interior and most settings seem pretty intuitive. The AppRadio Live app is cool as you get free GPS via your phone etc but it’s a very different platform than the rest of the system so it’s a whole additional thing to figure out.Drawbacks: takes about 10 seconds to resume BT audio playback on startup. I’ll update as I get to know it better.

I bought this to install in my 2004 4Runner, along with a back up camera. It works perfectly! I did the entire installation myself after reviewing a Youtube tutorial of a guy doing the same thing in his 4Runner. It works perfectly. I did not wire a sub into it, but plan on doing that in the next month. the unit powers on quickly, and by the time I am buckled in and ready to put it in reverse, this shows the backup camera image. So this unit boots up quickly. It’s intuitive and pairs quickly to my phone. It does not come with Andro Auto, but I don’t need it for navigation. I haven’t had it long, so I’ll post another review if anything goes wrong.

I bought and installed this to replace a Jensen VX-7020 that stopped working. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Pioneer is much better quality with good features. The night dimming feature works very well and I really like being able to turn off the display at night. Uploading custom wallpaper from a USB drive was not easy. It doesn’t tell you in the directions but you have to change the phone settings to USB in order for the system to recognize a USB flash drive.

I had this installed last night as a birthday gift to my wife who has not seen it yet. I also had all the goodies installed with the radio (back-up cam, SAT radio, micro bypass, etc.) and it all works without any issues! I should mention that I had it hooked up by a friend who installs this stuff professionally so I had it done cheap and done right the first time…. My wife will be very pleased……. and very busy trying to figure out all the radio functions!

After dealing with 2 walmart Dual radios that for some reason wouldnt work in my truck, i figured id just buy a better namebrand radio. easy to install, fit like a glove. only problem was the radio was a little bit longer than the stock one. intead of cutting the plastic that it was hitting in the dash, i ran the screws in that hold the radio in place a little over half way in. The trim piece still fits over and looks flawless. definitely worth the money. i would recommend buying the $10 parking brake bypass kit so you dont have to have the parking brake on to play videos and i believe syncing bluetooth as well but im not 100% certain. worthy of a 5 star review. sound quality is great.
