Large 54mm Diameter and Short Back Focus Distance
The EOS R system has a large 54mm diameter and decreased distance between the rear lens element and sensor, which enable a compelling combination of image quality, performance and compact lens design.

12 pin Connection
The 12 pin connection means faster, higher volume communication between the EOS R camera and each of the RF lenses. This enables lightning-fast AF, high image stabilization and image optimization.

Beyond Full Compatibility with EF/EF-S Lenses
Use any EF/EF-S lens with the EOS R camera thanks to three optional mount adapters. One even has a customizable control ring, and another lets you drop in a circular polarizing or variable ND filter.

The compact Mount Adapter EF-EOS R expands the list of lenses compatible with the EOS R system, allowing use with your new or existing EF and EF-S lenses without compromising quality or performance.

The Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R lets you use EF and EF-S lenses with the EOS R camera, but with an added control ring like those found on RF lenses for increased control and customization.

The Drop-in Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R features drop-in filter capability, which lets you utilize either a circular polarizing filter or variable ND filter with your EF and EF-S lenses.

The 3.15-inch, 2.1 Megapixel Clear View LCD II Vari-angle Touchscreen LCD features brightness adjustment and extensive flexibility that makes it easy to compose and shoot from virtually any angle.
Built-in OLED EVF
The high-precision 0.5-inch OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) EVF features approx. 3.69 million dots, a 23mm eyepoint and a sharp and bright viewfinder image for high visibility even in low light.
Dot-matrix LCD Panel
An LCD panel on the top of the camera features a dot-matrix display that shows real-time information on camera settings. It remains on when the camera is in use, on standby or even powered down.
Multi-function Bar
The newly designed multi-function bar has a high level of functionality and customization options for fast, intuitive shooting. It lets you change settings, check manual focus and more.
Deep Grip with Convenient Shutter Button Position
The compact EOS R camera features a large, ergonomic grip for easy and comfortable operation, even for long stretches of time. The shutter button is positioned on the grip for intuitive access.
Lens Control Ring
All RF lenses feature a control ring on the lens barrel, which expands the EOS R camera’s control options by offering numerous adjustments and operations of settings such as exposure compensation.
