I have been using this amp for around two years now and I love it! I recommend it to all of my friends for their car sub setups and most of the are using it now too. I have used this in my Dodge Ram with two 10″ kickers (boost turned town for 10’s) and it had excellent sound quality. It also fit nicely under the center console (2003 model). I now use it for two 12″ Pioneers in the back of my 4runner and it sounds even better! I used the mounts preinstalled on the amp and have it mounted to the side of my sub box. It has a clean look to it and the backlit boss logo looks slick. (SIDE NOTE: I have had to since cover up the backlit logo because it was reflecting very brightly at night in my rear window. This is not a reflection of boss or the amp quality, just something to keep in mind when installing.)The instillation was very simple, just using the screws to tighten down on the cables. I highly recommend getting the boss wiring kit along with this. It has all of the necessary cables for setup and they are great quality. I do wish the wires came with the amp, but it’s not a huge deal as long as you remember to order cables when you order the amp.Pros:- Great Sound Quality- Manual Adjustment of frequencies, bass boost, and power- Has never overheated- Cooling fan is silent- Mounts nicely and cleanly- Powers two 12″ with no struggleCons:- Does not include cables- Does not include screws for mounting- Remote adjustment knob does not seem to work (Not really a big deal to me though)

I bought this amp a few years back. I don’t have it anymore but I thought I would write a review in case anyone is looking into buying one.I used this amp to power a single Rockford Fosgate P3 15″, wired it at 4 ohms, and the last notch of gain was all clip. The P3 was rated for 600W RMS and RF is a really solid no BS brand in car audio so I would say you have approximately 600W at 4 ohms there. At 2 ohms, this amp blew the 15″ that I was using before and was the reason I had to buy the P3. Silly me thought that the numbers were way over what they really were, but I shouldn’t have underestimated it.Main downside I noticed was that thing gets hot and doesn’t really have good heat dissipation. It is possible for this amp to overheat and shut off during the summer if it’s in your closed off trunk with no AC. When I would go out to see what happened the body of the amp would be so hot you couldn’t touch it.Others are saying this amp is incredibly weak… Either they have really high standards or they don’t know what they were doing… case in point: You must use the gain knob that it comes with, mess with the knobs and switches, and play around with your head unit’s sub channel levels (assuming your head unit is aftermarket and has good EQ options). I know that when I first hooked it up out of the box I thought it wasn’t working until I played around with it a little and before I knew it the amp was clipping out the sub.It is a cheap amp, so there could be some pretty bad consistency and you might be playing the lotto with these things. I wouldn’t doubt that some of them are more powerful than others. Other reviews saying they run it at 0.5 ohm… Pretty sure that would’ve melted the unit that I had, it felt like a pan on the stove at 2 ohms, but it was a guaranteed 1000W RMS of clean power at 2, maybe even more.At the end of the day, this amp powered a sub that set off car alarms in parking garages. If that’s all you need for a good price then I can’t recommend this thing enough. I sold mine along with my sub/box 2 years ago, I sure miss that thing.

I love Boss gear. Simple, affordable and performs well. This smaller 2-channel amp is perfect for powering a pair of tweeters. It’s small enough to conceal behind a dash or glovebox and can easily be controlled with a separate level control. If you’re using this as a primary amp, you may need more power, but as a smaller component amp for highs or midrange, it’s perfect…

I came across a boss amplifier from a friend years ago, it lasted and lasted. I sold it in my old car. I bought this one knowing it would be worth the measly 140 I paid. It is hooked up in a 2015 Corolla Sport pushing a Fosgate Punch P3. And this amp can do its job very very well. I more impressed than I thought and I already knew it was a good amp. Super big thanks for putting out a product that actually is what is says. Its %100 in my book. And then for 20 more you have a 3 year protection plan. You just can’t beat it!

So I had the boss riot 1100 on my boss 800 watts 10in sub running on my stock radio (18 nissan rogue). The 1100 was nice but it wasn’t pumping out bass strong enough for my liking. So after a week of having that one, I decided to upgrade to this one (1600). Now dont expect it to b 1600 watts because it’s not gonna pump that out. If u know in the amplifier world they hype up the watts to make sale. Always go by the fuses. Now this have 2x 25 fuses, so expect to pump out like 300-400 watts rms . Maybe a little less than that. But over all this amp pushing alot more better than the 1100. If expect to shake the car hard and the neighborhood, it wont. But it will rattle the seats and mirrors hard lol. It’s very low profile which I like. It dont shake the truck too much but then again I’m driving a crossover/light suv pushing a single10in. Now it do gets warm, sometimes hot but I had to call boss to see if it do get hot or warm and they told me yes it will but it shouldn’t go into protection mood if your gains are right and your ground is too. Overall I’m satisfied with what I got. I will probably upgrade one more time to the boss riot 2000 in later months with one 12in sub but if u thinking about getting the 1100 jus spend that extra 20-30$ and get the 1600 or extra 10$ from 1600 and get the 2000 watts if u want it to hit hard like I do.

I’m dictating this through the Google speech so I’m not going to correct the errors that is made. I’ve had the amp for a very long time. it’s been working great. I have 2 p3s 12in Rockford Fosgate running off 1 ohm setting through the 3400 amp. I’ve been using it forever it works great until recently I made a mistake and now it’s in protective mode. At no fault of them I think it was cuz of what I did. If I wouldn’t have done that it’s been working great since the day I got it and when it didn’t they were more than happy to fix it for me I send it to them and fix it for me. that was a long time ago. I got this amp back when it was on sale for $90. That should tell you how long I’ve owned this amp in particular. you cannot find it for that price anymore. All the negative reviews I hear don’t match up to my experience. If for some reason I need to buy another amp I’m definitely going to get the same one or better of the same brand because it’s been working great for me so take my words or do not. It’s up to you. all I know is I’ve had a good experience with the product and if I have to I will be buying another one.

So, I use this amp as a sub for my TV system. I have another “same unit” that I placed in service as my sub for my home music system. The sub runs one 1400 watt peak Boss audio 12 inch sub at 4 ohms. Works great for tv audio where I think it shines. My home music system has an 18 inch 4 ohm sub driven with the r3400d. Truth is, this amp does not do anywhere near the output claimed unless you like distortion. But it does drive that 18 inch to incredibly insane loudness. My guess is, about 500 watts at most. In case you wonder, my home music system runs from solar batteries, 40 of them, so power for the amp is no problem. My personal opinion is, it’s a great buy for the price. Unfortunately the unit does not reach nowhere near the output rms as claimed.

i think this amp have more better sound quality and punch then 1100 watts, i hook up with my JBL GT5-2402BR and its shake my car…..if you are carefull to tune amp setting then you good to go, you get some idea from youtube video, in simple way for beginner Start by turning the gain down, and turn off your filters and bass boost.Turn the gain up until it distorts, then back it off until the sound is clean again.Adjust the low-pass filter downward to eliminate high- and mid-frequency notes. Now play with the bass boost. hope its help to you

I’ve had this installed for over a year now and I’ve had absolutely no problems with it. I read other reviews and figured that most people have no clue how to even pick the right amp for their set up let alone wire it up correctly. So I tried it myself and I’m glad I did. I love it so much that I am going to buy another one for another car I have. Oh what fun.

The amp is working just fine for me. It’s powering subs that require way more watts than 1200 but they still sound great. I like the soft turn in feature plus the remote bass knob is awesome.
